Greg Anthony on Fredette, expanding Tourney
CBS and NBA TV analyst Greg Anthony joined the show to talk about the big stories in college basketball.
Dan asked Anthony about Jimmer Fredette’s recent performance against San Diego State. “It’s the second time around for playing team, so they have a little bit better feel of how to cover him,” Anthony said.
Anthony did talk about Jimmer not lighting it up quite as consistently. “The bottom line is they’re still winning games and that speaks volumes about the team and him,” Anthony said.
Anthony said he’s a proponent of going to 96 teams in the Tournament because there’s so much parity. Anthony thinks within four years they’ll expand to 96.
Anthony said that 20 teams could reach the Final Four. Anthony thinks half of those teams are from the Big East.
But Anthony thinks that some people in the NCAA might not love that the Big East could get 11 teams in the Big Dance. “What’s that say about the other conferences?” Anthony said.
