Dan: Cover up worse than crime for Ohio State
Dan weighed in on Ohio State issuing a self-imposed sanction on Tuesday. The program put forth suspending head coach Jim Tressel for two games and fining him $250,000.
Dan said he thinks coaches sometimes hold their breath and hope all the problems go away. But they don’t. Tressel should have reached out to the legal department at Ohio State to protect the university. Dan said at the end of the day, whatever happened with the tattoo parlor will now just look worse.
“The cover up is worse than the crime,” Dan emphasized. He suggested Ohio State’s players would have ended up with a lesser penalty if the program was up front from Day 1.
What do you think? Was the self-imposed penalty enough?
