Ryan Mallett talks about slow 40, rumors

Former Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett joined the show to talk about his draft status and Tuesday’s Pro Day.

Mallett said he got a bad start during his 40 and people shouldn’t read much into his 5.3. He said he’s gotten as high as 4.9.

Dan asked Mallett what people are saying he needs to improve. He said being more careful with the ball, and making sure he doesn’t put his weight too far forward.

Mallett also went back to his media interview at the Combine. He said it’s been misunderstood. “I didn’t walk out,” Mallett said. “I wasn’t frustrated. I was expecting those questions.”

Mallett said that he never failed a drug test. He only seemed sensitive because he was asked so many times.

Dan asked Mallett how far he could throw a football. He said 80 yards when he was younger.

“Sounds like an investigation needs to take place,” Mallett said.
