Tom Verducci breaks down MLB opening day
Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci joined the show to talk about the opening of the season and to share his predictions.
“I think Major League Baseball missed the boat by having only six games,” Verducci said. He thinks they should have 15 games going on and own the day, like the first day of the NCAA Tournament.
Verducci didn’t quite pick the Braves over the Phillies, but understands Dan’s pick. Verducci thinks the Phils’ age is a problem. And Atlanta’s young arms are very good.
Verducci also weighed in on the Dodgers. He likes their pitchers, and thinks Clayton Kershaw has a shot at winning the Cy Young. Verducci even said he’d probably take Kershaw over Stephen Strasburg. “I don’t think they have enough offense to beat the Rockies and Giants,” Verducci said.
