Lou Merloni said Red Sox shouldn’t panic over 0-5 start
WEEI (Boston) radio host and former Red Sox player Lou Merloni joined the show to talk about Boston’s 0-5 start.
Merloni pointed out that last year they started out struggling in April and quickly turned it around. “I just don’t think that five games into the season anybody will panic,” Merloni said.
Merloni thinks that the Sox will get hot at some point soon. “They’re going to rattle off 16 or 17 out of 20 games at some point of the season and be exactly where they need to be,” Merloni said.
Merloni commented on the new Red Sox stars. He said he’s not worried about Adrian Gonzalez because he’s been around the block. But Merloni thinks this could be a tough transition for Carl Crawford because he’s never been anywhere except Tampa Bay.
