MLS’ Portland Timbers make home debut

Last night was the home MLS debut of the Portland Timbers. The Timbers are not a new franchise, just new to MLS. Click on this to learn more about the Timbers’ past.
To call the crowd last night intense would be an understatement. As the match was going on, I was hoping for more shots of the fans and the stadium. You have to love “Timber Joey” cutting slabs of wood from a giant log at one end of the stadium after every goal. He got a workout last night in the 4-2 win over Chicago.
I have to get out there for a home match. A Sounders match is on my list as well. What I have to do is catch a Seattle-Portland match in each stadium…and then head North to check out the Vancouver Whitecaps.
