Kurt Warner on Cam Newton, best fit for Arizona Cardinals
NFL Network analyst Kurt Warner joined the show to talk the quarterbacks who went in this year’s NFL Draft and more.
Warner talked about the mentality of some teams on draft day. “They are afraid to miss, so they take a guy a little bit ahead of what they feel he might be,” Warner said.
Warner said he normally wouldn’t start a rookie quarterback. But there’s no one in Carolina to sit Cam Newton behind. Jimmy Clausen will only be entering his second season and probably isn’t much more ready.
Warner said Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt asked him about some veteran quarterbacks the team is looking at: Marc Bulger, Carson Palmer and Kevin Kolb.
“I would take Carson,” Warner said. He said Palmer is in a crazy situation, but he’d be a great fit in Arizona.
