Tom Schieffer explains why he’s Dodgers ‘monitor’

Tom Schieffer will act as a monitor of the Dodgers for MLB. He joined the show to talk about the state of the team and more.

Schieffer said that he doesn’t want to get too specific about financial issues, like can the Dodgers make payroll.

Schieffer said he’s there for two reasons. To see what the current state of financial health is and how did they get there.

“The commissioner wants to get to the bottom of it,” Schieffer said. “That’s why I’m there.”

Dan asked Schieffer about Frank McCourt’s claims that MLB Commissioner Bud Selig won’t see him. Schieffer said that MLB feels they’ve given McCourt as much attention as any owner.

Schieffer said that GM Ned Colletti can make any deal as long as its within the budget he has.
