Joel Sherman says Posada controversy ‘coming attraction’ for Yankees

New York Post columnist Joel Sherman joined the show to talk about Jorge Posada bowing out of a game when he was dropped to ninth in the lineup.

Sherman said that this is a “coming attraction” for the Yankees, who have lots of older players who will start to struggle. Sherman said they have a lot of players in the mid-30s with longer contracts.

Sherman also said that players in their mid-30s fade faster now that there’s more drug testing.

Sherman also said that Derek Jeter has only a 10 or 15 percent chance of defying age. “They’re going to have to face the idea of putting him at the bottom of the lineup,” Sherman said.
