Mark Jackson on Ellis rumors, how Dan helped his career
New Golden State Warriors head coach Mark Jackson joined the show to talk about his job.
Dan asked Jackson if the Warriors are shopping Monta Ellis. “No he’s not being shopped right now,” Jackson said. “I said when I came on board I’m looking forward to coaching Monta Ellis.”
Jackson was emphatic that they hadn’t reached out to anyone, but they’ve gotten calls. Jackson thinks an Ellis-Stephen Curry would be a hard backcourt to contain.
Jackson said that he hasn’t had his eyes on the draft prospects, because he was focused on calling the Finals.
Jackson said that ESPN told him he could not be on other shows and he’s really excited to be able to come back on the show. “So many times I wanted to pick up the phone and couldn’t do it,” Jackson said.
Jackson then admitted that Dan is really behind his broadcasting success.
