Wambach says U.S. Soccer is confident heading into final

U.S. Women’s soccer star Abby Wambach joined the show to talk about their World Cup finals matchup against Japan.

Dan asked Wambach about trash-talking in international play. She said Japan is very polite — they don’t even have curse words in their language. And she said Brazil is the opposite … very fiery.

Wambach said that Brazil’s Marta was probably very upset when U.S. knocked off Brazil. “We broke her heart,” Wambach said.

Wambach said that spirits are high on the U.S. team. They believe they can win. They just have to play “better possession” and focus on this game, not the big picture.

Wambach didn’t totally agree with Dan that if a soccer player has one name, they’re usually good. She didn’t buy it.
