Dungy says Moss didn’t want to play in wrong situation

NBC NFL analyst Tony Dungy joined the show to talk about the big stories around the league. Here are some of his takes:

— Dungy on Randy Moss’ retirement: “I wasn’t surprised. I saw it with Marvin Harrison,” Dungy said. “They want to play at a high level. they want to play with a great quarterback. And they also want to make a little money.”

— Dungy said he would not have signed off on Albert Haynesworth. But he would with Chad Ochocinco in the right situation.

— Dungy said he thinks Peyton Manning will be OK despite his neck injury. He said that the Colts went through that with Manning’s knee a few years ago, and it was fine.

— Dungy thinks the Jets is a good landing place for Plaxico Burress.  “I think Rex Ryan will be good for him in terms of someone believing him,” Dungy said.

— Dungy had interesting comments on the Broncos and Kyle Orton. “To me if you want to win, you get behind your best quarterback,” Dungy said. Dungy said if they believe Orton is the best QB, they shouldn’t trade him.
