Staples talks about Sooners being No. 1, Notre Dame improved
SI.com’s Andy Staples joined the show to talk about the coaches’ preseason poll and other big stories in college football. Here are some of his takes:
— Staples said that Oklahoma is No. 1 for a reason. The Sooners bring a lot of talent and have an easy schedule. Although Staples said that the Big 12 is actually very good at the top this year. Texas A&M has its best team in years, and Texas will be back.
— Staples said that a lot of coaches don’t fill out their polls. The SIDs do. He said Air Force’s Troy Calhoun actually put a lot of work into it.
— Staples said Notre Dame could be very good this season.
— Staples said that the only problem Andrew Luck might have for wining the Heisman is that the winner has to come from a title contender.
