Bob Stoops on No. 1 ranking, Landry Jones, Twitter

Oklahoma Sooners head coach Bob Stoops joined the show to talk about being No. 1 overall in the USA Today/Coaches poll and more.

Stoops didn’t seem to care much about being No. 1 overall. “It doesn’t matter, because at the end of the day there’s nothing I can do about it,” Stoops said.

Dan asked Stoops if he’d rather be No. 1 or No. 10. “I’d rather be somewhere around 3-4-5,” Stoops said.

Stoops had some nice comments about his quarterback Landry Jones. He said Jones really impressed him in the second half of last year’s Big 12 title game against Nebraska. Stoops said Jones does a lot of things like former Sooner QB Sam Bradford.

Stoops also weighed in on Twitter. “It’s not going away,” Stoops said. “You won’t catch me doing it. But at the end of the day, it’s not going away completely. … Unless you show yourself to be a fool with it, I’ll allow you to use it.”
