Scioscia talks about Weaver, Angels’ lack of offense
Angels manager Mike Scioscia joined the show to talk about their tight race in the American League West and more.
Scioscia commented on Jered Weaver getting suspended for hitting a batter. He thinks Weaver is very competitive, but you don’t hit a batter. Still, Scioscia loves Weaver. “I think he’s one of the top five pitchers in baseball,” Scioscia said.
Scioscia did talk about getting kicked out of last night’s game against the Yankees for arguing check swings. He said that it’s OK to talk to umpires, as long as you do it in the proper manner.
Scioscia said that the team has great pitching and defense, but they need to score more runs to win the division. “We need to start pressuring teams every inning,” Scioscia said.
