Steve Sands comments on latest round of Tiger drama
The Golf Channel’s Steve Sands joined the show to talk about the big stories at the PGA in Atlanta. Here are some of Sands’ takes:
— Sands thinks that Tiger would be better served to be a little more open. “just give a little … that’s all,” Sands said.
Sands said that the fact Tiger’s agent Mark Steinberg having an animated conversation with caddy Stevie Williams in a parking lot is just a sign of how ridiculous this whole thing has gotten.
— Sands addressed Phil Mickelon’s caddie Bones Mackay coming on our show yesterday. “Phil is OK with giving a little and having a little bit of transparency, where Tiger isn’t OK with any of that,” Sands said.
— Sands said don’t read too much into the early results at the PGA. Sands said that the last four holes on the Atlanta are the most challenging.
— Sands’ predictions for the tournament: 1) Lee Westwood, 2) Rory McIlroy, 3) Jason Day.
