Castillo talks about secrets of Yankees clubhouse

Luis “Squeegee” Castillo joined the show to talk about his new tell-all book from the viewpoint of a Yankees clubhouse guy.

Castillo said he wrote this book because he never got a World Series ring. Apparently, another clubhouse guy got a ring and he didn’t, and he’s upset.

Castillo said that he’s heard from guys like Chuck Knoblauch and Rubin Sierra, but he hasn’t heard from current players.

Castillo said that A-Rod was “high maintenance.” He had to lay out his clothes and put toothpaste on is toothbrush. He said A-Rod wasn’t a big tipper.

Castillo told a great story about a classic pregame speech by Hideki Matsui. It ended with something like “Let’s win, pop some champagne, and ‘get some hos.'”

Catillo did say he saw no evidence of performance-enhancing drugs.
