Bruce Feldman says we were fooled by Notre Dame
CBSSports.com’s Bruce Feldman joined the show to talk about the opening weekend of college football.
Feldman said he thought Notre Dame was good enough to reach a BCS title game before the loss to South Florida. “Maybe we read too much into it because they beat a bad USC team and a Miami team that didn’t have a coaching staff last season,” Feldman said. Still, he thinks head coach Brian Kelly is a major upgrade for the program.
Feldman said that LSU coach Les Miles is criticized for some of his unorthodox moves, but he always has his team prepared. He also noted LSU is very smart in recruiting to fill roles. Feldman said the Tigers will get better as they put the Jordan Jefferson situation behind him.
Feldman also commented on Boise State. He thinks it’s hard to pick against the Broncos, especially with quarterback Kellen Moore and a “big-time defensive line.” Feldman said the problem is the soft schedule. It’s not consistent, so people will make the argument that they couldn’t do it if they were in the SEC.
