Michael Irvin says Romo not to blame, media wrong about Cam Newton

NFL Network analyst Michael Irvin joined the show to talk about Week 1 around the league.

Irvin doesn’t blame Tony Romo for the Cowboys’ loss to the Jets. He said that the team wouldn’t have been in position to win the game if it wasn’t for Romo.

Irvin commented on Cam Newton’s debut. Irvin wondered where all the experts who said Newton wasn’t ready are now. “Do you ever think about the rhetoric and how it disappears,” Irvin said.

Irvin was very impressed by Newton’s passing.  “As well as he can run, you marvel at his arm,” Irvin said. “That ball went from quarterback to receiver in yesterday’s time,” Irvin said.

Irvin said that the media should accept responsibility more for mistakes. Irvin apologized for saying the Texans shouldn’t have taken Mario Williams over Reggie Bush and Vince Young.
