Chris Mannix says Mayweather did nothing wrong knocking out Ortiz
SI.com’s Chris Mannix joined the show to talk about the controversial Floyd Mayweather-Victor Ortiz bout on Saturday.
Mannix said Mayweather was winning heading into the fourth round. Mannix said Ortiz just couldn’t hit Mayweather. “Frustration started to boil over and he just launched himself into Mayweather like a missile,” Mannix said.
Mannix said that he thinks Ortiz made the bigger mistake by head-butting Mayweather. That’s why Ortiz kept apologizing.
Mannix has no problem with Mayweather knocking him out when Ortiz had his hands down.
“I had no problem with what Mayweather did,” Mannix said. “This isn’t a pillow fight.”
Mannix said this showed Ortiz’s inexperience. “He put himself in that position,” Mannix said.
