Harold Reynolds: CC Sabathia will leave Yankees in offseason

MLB Network analyst Harold Reynolds came to the ManCave to talk about the playoff race and much more.

Reynolds also thinks Yankees pitcher CC Sabathia will opt out of his contract this offseason. Sabathia said there’s too much uncertainty about the future of the Yanks. Reynolds thinks Alex Rodriguez can possibly be a designated hitter for the Yankees in a few years.

Reynolds thinks Albert Pujols will not return to the St. Louis Cardinals. He thinks the Rangers and Cubs will be in the mix. “If they were going to keep Albert, that would have been done,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds is leaning toward the Brewers’ Ryan Braun for MVP. But he thinks Matt Kemp, Prince Fielder and Justin Upton are right there. He also thinks Clayton Kershaw will win Cy Young, but that Ian Kennedy is right there.

Reynolds can’t vote for Justin Verlander for MVP, because he can only impact up to 35 games out of 162. “It’s not right,” Reynolds said.

Reynolds thinks the one team that can knock off the Phillies is the Brewers. Reynolds thinks the key issue for Milwaukee is making sure ace Zach Greinke is pitching at home, because there’s no guarantee he can handle the pressure of pitching in Philly.
