MLB Network’s Billy Ripken says don’t overlook Detroit Tigers
MLB Network analsyt Billy Ripken joined the show to talk about the wild finale to the regular season and more.
Dan asked Ripken to look ahead to the playoffs and which team is he keeping a close eye on. “There’s a little bit of me that thinks Detroit is going to be very tough,” Ripken said. He pointed to Justin Verlander and Doug Fister on the mound as a key factor.
Ripken said the Rays’ Joe Maddon is definitely manager of the year. But he still takes the Rangers in that series.
Billy also talked about his respect for his brother Cal. Billy said that Cal did some unappreciated things. With his positioning on the field, he made everyone around him better.
