Al Leiter comments on Red Sox clubhouse, breaks down playoffs
MLB Network analyst Al Leiter joined the show to talk about the playoffs and more.
Leiter agreed with Dan that the viewpoint on the Red Sox is skewed by their results. Drinking or eating the clubhouse can be fun or it can be negligent. “It’s a pure product of are you winning or are you losing,” Leiter said.
Leiter said that guys would go off and do other things after they left the game all the time. He said there was always divisiveness over this issue.
Dan asked Leiter who was more important — Terry Francona or Theo Epstein. He said the manager. Leiter says as a player, you hope you don’t really interact with the GM.
Leiter commented on each series. He thinks the key to the Rangers-Tigers series is Texas’ aggressive base-running. Leiter thinks the Brewers are the better team in the NL. But the Cardinals are “riding the wave” and looking at the postseason like they have no business being there and have nothing to lose.
