Collinsworth said Eagles need more time to gel, sticks up for Tebow

NBC and Showtime NFL broadcaster Cris Collinsworth joined the show to talk about

Collinsworth said he’s broken down the tape of the Eagles’ loss to the Bills. He said they have serious problems with their defense and the “wide nine” scheme. Collinsworth isn’t sure they’re strong enough in the middle to run a defense where they spread out to cover everyone.

Collinsworth agreed with Michael Vick that it’s not necessarily fair to call the Eagles “dumb.” Collinsworth said the Eagles have gotten a lot of bad breaks. And also they have a new coaching staff that they’re trying to gel without a real offseason.

Collinsworth also commented on Tim Tebow. He can’t understand why some people demonize Tebow. “For me, I cheer for him,” Collinsworth said, acknowledging that they’re both Florida Gators. “I think he brings heart and character to the game. You almost have to go back to a Joe Kapp kind of guy with the Vikings.”
