Daugherty: Carson Palmer no longer a good quarterback

Cincinnati Enquirer columnist Paul Daugherty joined the show to talk about the Bengals trading Carson Palmer to Oakland.

Dan asked Daugherty if this trade was a win for the Bengals. “Nobody … I mean nobody thought the Bengals could do better than a [second-round] pick for Carson.

Dan asked Daugherty how good he thinks Palmer is right now. “I don’t think he’s very good any more,” Daugherty said. He pointed to the elbow problem and said Palmer can’t throw the deep ball any more.

Daugherty said Andy Dalton’s success was a big factor in the trade. Daugherty said Dalton has exceeded expectations. He said veterans on the team listen to him and he doesn’t make many mistakes.
