Tim McCarver on five-letter words, infrared cameras, La Russa’s legacy

FOX’s Tim McCarver joined the show to talk about World Series Game 1 and what he expects to happen the rest of the series. Also, he will address calling the word “Strike” a five-letter word.

Dan asked when he knew the mistake he had with strike. “The minute we broke for commercial,” McCarver said. “What do you want me say. That’s why I’m bad at Scrabble.”

McCarver also commented on the infrared cameras. He said he found it strange. “that thing his weird,” McCarver said.

But he did say it was helpful in the ninth inning when Adrian Beltre fouled the ball off his foot. The infrared caught it.

McCarver commented on Tony La Russa’s legacy. He doesn’t think that La Russa gets too much credit at all. McCarver pointed to how much success he’s had in other places, not just St. Louis.
