Mitch Williams thinks Texas Rangers will win Game 6

MLB Network analyst Mitch Williams joined the show to talk about the World Series and more.

Williams thinks the Cardinals don’t have to worry about their Game 7 starter. “I personally don’t think there’s going to be a Game 7,” Williams said.

Williams credits the Rangers’ scouting efforts. “This is why this series has been so good and I’m so against interleague play. I think the World Series should come down to scouting reports. These guys haven’t seen each other since 2004. You’re playing teams that you haven’t seen.”

Williams also looked back at the bullpen fiasco for St. Louis. “I don’t care how loud it is, there’s no way ‘Motte’ and ‘Lynn’ can sound the same,” Williams said.

Williams also weighed in on the Chicago Cubs and Theo Epstein. “The first thing he should do is hire Ryno (Ryne Sandberg),” Williams said. He said that would buy Epstein three years to make all the moves he needs to because he can market Sandberg. ”

“It’s a three-year Mulligan,” Williams said. “I could not believe last year when they re-hired Mike Quade.”
