Joe Buck says bullpen mistake not reason Cardinals lost Game 5
FOX MLB analyst Joe Buck joined the show to talk about the World Series.
Buck says it’s ridiculous to point to the bullpen mishap as the reasons St. Louis lost Game 5: “The Cardinals hitters lost Game 5. Period.”
Buck said that people shouldn’t throw Tony La Russa under the bus like they’ve been doing. “To blame that on La Russa and the phone system is crazy,” Buck said.
Buck said that he doesn’t believe there’s any chance La Russa wasn’t ready to manage that inning. Buck said La Russa is the most prepared manager he’s been around.
Buck said that he sensed Albert Pujols called the hit and run and not Tony La Russa when he saw Allen Craig go to the clubhouse and have to explain it to La Russa.
