Michael Irvin says Broncos have a real chance in AFC
NFL Network analyst Michael Irvin joined the show to talk about the big stories around the league.
Irvin stuck by his comments that Tim Tebow can lead the Denver Broncos to the Super Bowl.
“We are seeing something here,” Irvin said. “I don’t care how talented you are. I dont’ care how gifted you are. There’s a reason it’s called a ‘football team.’ … Look at the Philadelphia Eagles. Look at the Denver Broncos.”
Irvin said the AFC is weakened. There’s no Peyton Manning and the Patriots have the worst defense in the league. He said the Broncos run the ball all day and don’t turn the ball over. Irvin said coaches preach that all the time. Irvin said certain teams live with incomplete passes as long as there aren’t interceptions.
In the NFC, Irvin said that the Saints are the only team with a legitimate shot to beat the Packers. Dan asked him if he could have Jimmy Graham or Rob Gronkowski, who would he take. Irvin, no surprise, picked Graham because he went to Miami.
Irvin had strong comments on the Eagles’ DeSean Jackson. He said that he has no problem with Jackson acting up on the field. He wants his players to be fired up. As long as he doesn’t have to pick them up at jail on a Saturday night.
On a side note, Irvin said he’s never seen a player urinate on the field and was surprised to see Chargers kicker Nick Novak do that.
