Tom Verducci says Angels and Cardinals both did OK with Pujols deal
Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci joined the show to talk about Albert Pujols and all the news from the winter meetings.
Verducci agrees with Dan that both sides came out OK with the Pujols trade. Verducci said that the Cardinals would have had a hard time putting a good team around Pujols at that salary. Verducci said the Angels make more sense because they can move to DH.
Verducci said that Pujols has a lot of good years left in him because of his command of the strike zone. He said he should have at least five good years, and then health could be an issue because of his size.
Verducci said that the Angels may not necessarily own the town though, because the Dodgers will have a lot to spend next offseason.
