Jim Tressel attorney tells Dan Patrick Show former Ohio State coach won’t appeal NCAA decision

Jim Tressel’s attorney Gene A. Marsh told the Dan Patrick show that the former Ohio State coach  accepts the decision of the Committee on Infractions and will not appeal the decision.

The NCAA handed down a “five-year show-cause” penalty to Tressel for not reporting violations that led to a one-year bowl ban for Ohio State. The violations began with players taking cash and tattoos in exchange for memorabilia.

The penalty means Tressel will likely not be able to coach until 2017. He is currently an assistant for the Indianapolis Colts.
