Tom Verducci on Prince Fielder’s future and HOF vote

Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci joined the show to talk about the big hot stove storylines.

Verducci talked about free agent Prince Fielder’s future.

“I don’t think time is going to diminish the price,” Verducci said. “I think he’s a guy who is going to get Pujols money.”

Verducci thinks the Nationals — who will be getting more TV money — is the front-runner for Fielder. He said the Mariners and Blue Jays will be in the mix.

Verducci also weighed in on the upcoming Hall of Fame announcement. He think former Reds SS Barry Larkin will get in. “I think he’ll be the only one going in,” Verducci said. He thinks Tim Raines and Jeff Bagwell will move up, but not get there.

Verducci said that Raines’ gets the short end of the stick. He said that he compares to Lou Brock, and will eventually get in.
