Mike Lombardi on NFL coaching carousel and Tebow’s chances against Pats

NFL Network analyst and former Raiders GM Mike Lombardi joined the show to talk about the big stories around the league.

— Lombardi said the Raiders and new GM Reggie McKenzie are going to try to build the team like the Packers. McKenzie was in Green Bay’s front office and wants Packers assistant Winston Moss.

— Lombardi doesn’t think the Pats hiring Josh McDaniels is a big deal, and pointed out this has happened before with Mike Shanahan.

— Lombardi doesn’t think the Pats will let Tim Tebow come up with big plays. He said the Steelers over-committed to the run.

Lombardi said if the Patriots turn the ball over, they’ll lose.

— Lombardi said the Giants have the elements to beat the Packers — specifically they can rush the passer without blitzing.

— Lombardi said that Jaguars GM Gene Smith has wanted to hire Mike Mularkey for some time, and this is all about supporting quarterback Blaine Gabbert.

— Lombardi said some team will try to trade up to No. 2 to get Robert Griffin III in the draft.

— Lombardi says Peyton Manning will play on the Colts next season or he won’t play.
