Tom Verducci speculates on Darvish, Fielder and Dodgers sale
Sports Illustrated’s Tom Verducci joined the show to talk about the big MLB hot stove storylines.
Dan asked Verducci who is more important to the Rangers — Japanese pitcher Yu Darvish or Prince Fielder. Verducci said Darvish. He said they really want Darvish because he’s big and can be a workhorse.
Veruducci said if the Rangers don’t get Darvish, that will free up money for Fielder. But Verducci said he thinks Fielder is most likely to land with the Nationals.
Verducci said that Ryan Braun should go to the banquet to accept the MVP. “It’s good to see that he’s not exactly running from it,” Verducci said.
Verducci also talked about the Los Angeles Dodgers sale. Verducci said there will be an auction, but commissioner Bud Selig can shave down the list of guys who can make a bid.
