Peter King says Peyton Manning is ‘struggling’ to get healthy
Sports Illustrated’s Peter King joined the show to talk about Peyton Manning’s future.
“I hear that he is struggling right now,” King said. “It’s been difficult for him. He’s not back to 100 percent. He doesn’t have the same arm strength he did.”
Dan asked King if Colts owner Jim Irsay has made a decision. “No, I don’t,” King said. “But I do think he’s been realistic about this.”
King said that Irsay has been very cautious, even off the record. “He might be leaning one way in his head,” King said. “But I think that he’s going to give this every day and every week he deserves.”
Dan asked King which Manning brother will go down as better. “I think it’s highly likely Peyton will be remembered as the greater quarterback,” King said. “If Eli wins this game and he has three or four more years he’ll have a heck of a shot.”
King said that he thinks Gronkowski’s injury will be OK, but Aaron Hernandez will be the more important tight end. He thinks that Tom Brady will need Hernandez.
