Andy Staple breaks down National Signing Day
SI.com’s Andy Staples joined the show to talk about National Signing Day.
Staples said that Dorial Green-Beckham — a Calvin Johnson-like receiver — is the biggest name out there right now, but at the time Staples came on he was 20 minutes away from deciding.
Staples also commented on Penn State. Staples said that the Nittany Lions lost a lot of guys. Urban Meyer took three guys away from Penn State to Ohio State. Staples said that they have gone out of their normal recruiting range, even to the South. Staples said that there is a feeling of loyalty among the guys who stuck through this.
Staples said that USC is doing well despite scholarship reductions. They get less guys, but they’re quality guys.
