Michael Lombardi says 40 is most overrated Combine test
NFL Network analyst Michael Lombardi, a former NFL executive, joined the show to talk about the Scouting Combine.
Lombardi had interesting comments on the Wonderlic. He said some kids just aren’t good readers and aren’t going to do well in the aptitude test. But Lombardi says teams have other ways of testing, including psychological tests and quizzing them on the whiteboard with plays.
Lombardi said he wanted to know everything about a player before the interviews, just to see if he was going to lie.
Lombardi said the 40 time is the most overrated test. He said it’s all about the start, so you get non-meaningful results. He also said that some players lift for their lower body and that changes their 40.
