Casserly breaks down Saints penalties, weighs in on Luck vs. Griffin

CBS NFL analyst Charley Casserly joined the show to talk about this week’s big stories.

Casserly broke down the penalties against the Saints. He said that some of them are not very surprising. He was actually surprised they only took away two second-round picks, not a first-rounder. He said he expected former Saints defensive coordinator Gregg Williams to get hit hard.

Casserly thinks that Roger Goodell was upset because he was lied to, and he’s very concerned with the player safety angle. Casserly said Goodell might come down on the Patriots harder now for Spygate then he did at the time.

Casserly weighed in on Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III: “I don’t sense that there is a debate between one and two,” Casserly said. “When I looked at both of them, Luck is one and Griffin is two.”

Casserly said he wouldn’t have brought in Tim Tebow, because it will just create a lot of pressure. “At the end of the day, Tim Tebow can’t be your starting quarterback,” Casserly said. “He’s not good enough.”
