Hank Haney talks about his book on Tiger Woods

Golf coach Hank Haney joined the show to talk about his new book “The Big Miss” about his relationship with Tiger Woods.

Haney said the first chapter in his book is about the last time he worked with Tiger — the 2010 Masters. He said it then became clear that it wasn’t working any more.

“Six years is a long time to be the coach of any great team, any great player,” Haney said. “I just knew it was time for me to leave.”

Haney wasn’t sure why Tiger never made him sign a non-disclosure agreement, like most people around Tiger.

Haney addressed the Tiger not offering him a popsicle story, when the golfer didn’t offer him a popsicle. Haney said Tiger didn’t even think to offer him one, and it’s an example of his brand of self-centerdness.

Haney wouldn’t agree with the statement that Tiger lacks humanity. “Deep down he lacks the willingness to show the depth of his humanity,” Haney said.
