Charles Barkley says Kentucky is among the best of all time
TNT’s Charles Barkley joined the show to share his thoughts on college basketball and the NBA.
Barkley said that he doesn’t like the on-and-done rule, because players aren’t ready for the pros. He pointed to Kentucky’s Anthony Davis: “Physically he’s not ready for the NBA.” But Barkley said he understands why he would go pro if he is going to be the No. 1 overall pick.
Barkley thinks Kentucky is going to be win the title. “I don’t think the game is going to be close tonight,” Barkley said. “I think they’re going to win the game tonight pretty easily. I think Louisville is the second best team here.”
Dan and Barkley disagreed over where Kentucky ranks historically. He thinks they’re up there with the great teams of all time. “They have five or six guys who are going to play in the pros,” Barkley said. “Those great teams you’re talking about … they don’t have five or six pros.”
Barkley praised Kentucky coach John Calipari. He pointed to how well his young guys play in the pros and how quickly their skills are developed — pointing to Derrick Rose and Tyreke Evans.
