Sam Smith says teams no longer afraid of Miami Heat

Bulls.com NBA writer Sam Smith joined the show to talk about the Bulls’ overtime win over the Heat on Thursday night.

Smith was very surprised that the Bulls took Derrick Rose was taken out at the end of the Heat game last night. Smith thinks Rose’s health is OK.

Smith said the Bulls have beaten the Heat twice without Rose — once without Rose at all and one with only a guy wearing Rose’s jersey.

Smith said the Heat are “another team now.” Smith said Miami could win, but teams aren’t afraid anymore. “Now there’s more a sense of vulnerability,” Smith said. “All of a sudden people are looking at them and saying, ‘Why were we so scared of them?”

Smith also commented on Michael Jordan’s struggles as an owner. Smith thinks he needs to get lucky — like Chicago did with Derrick Rose and Oklahoma City with Kevin Durant.

Smith went over his playoff favorites. He thinks the Heat and Bulls will square off in the East finals. And he thinks it could be Oklahoma City and Memphis squaring off in the West.
