Charles Barkley: NBA athletes shouldn’t get paid for being in Olympics

TNT’s Charles Barkley joined the show to talk about Dwyane Wade’s comments that NBA players should be compensated for playing in the Olympics.

“The coolest thing I’ve done in my life is play in the Olympics,” Barkley said.

Barkley isn’t surprised by the modern player asking for more money, but doesn’t think that they should be paid. “Today’s players .. they make so much money and they actually think they make this money because they can play,” Barkley said. “They were just born at the right time.”

Barkley also weighed in Ozzie Guillen. He said that he reached out to him and wants to help him get through this. Barkley said that he would like to talk to Bobby Petrino as well.

“I’ve made some stupid mistakes in my life,” Barkley said. “When you do stupid stuff , when you are living in that storm, you think the world is going to end.”

Barkley weighed in on Lamar Odom as well. “He was in shock [after being traded from the Lakers],” Barkley said. “I don’t know why he lost it. There was no reason for him to act like he did and not play in Dallas.”
