Mike Florio talks about former players’ lawsuit, NFLPA’s appeal on Saints’ penalties

Profootballtalk and NBC NFL analyst Mike Florio joined the show to talk about the state of the League.

Florio said more and more former players are jumping into lawsuits against the NFL, but he thinks all of them still would have played knowing the risk.

Florio also weighed in on Bounty-Gate and the latest developments. He said that the NFLPA is trying to steer the appeal process away from Commissioner Roger Goodell.  They filed a grievance claiming this was on-field actions, so the appeal wouldn’t actually go to Goodell.

Florio said that Vilma should be prepared to sit out all season, but there’s a chance he could get it reduced. “It wouldn’t shock me if Goodell reduces it,” Florio said.

Florio said that Vilma’s defense is going to say he was just trying to get everyone fired up, and he never meant to pay $10,000 for taking out Kurt Warner.
