Chris Davis talks about getting win on the mound despite tough hitting day

Baltimore Orioles first baseman/emergency pitcher Chris Davis joined the show to talk about getting the win against Boston this past weekend. He went 0-for-8 in the game and struck out five times.

“I didn’t want to go for 0-for-8 and blow the game,” Davis said. “Being able to hang in there and still contribute to the win … albeit on the mound … it was still a positive day for me.”

Davis said he felt a little bad striking out Boston’s Adrian Gonzalez. But Davis admitted he was in a slump that day so he wasn’t in the mood to feel bad for other hitters.

Davis also weighed in on Cole Hamels hitting Bryce Harper. He said Harper doesn’t deserve this. He didn’t bring this kind of media attention on himself.
