Brent Barry defends Blake Griffin, critical of Andrew Bynum’s demeanor
NBA TV’s Brent Barry joined the show to break down the playoffs. Here are some of his takes.
— Barry weighed in on some recent criticism of Clippers star Blake Griffin.
“I’m questioning why it’s so critical for us to be critical of Blake Griffin,” Barry said. “He’s played five playoff games.”
Barry said Griffin openly discusses how he has to improve his post game, his perimeter shot and his free-throw shooting. Barry said you have to give Griffin and the Clippers more time to figure it out.
— Barry wasn’t a fan of Bynum’s recent comments on how the Lakers will advance past Denver.
“I’m not too thrilled with Andrew Bynum’s demeanor most of the season,” Barry said. “I think Kobe has some responsibility in that. I think he needs to have a talk with Andrew Bynum. … [Bynum] does need to grow up.”
— Barry weighed in on Carmelo Anthony. He said that Anthony wasn’t dangerous in Denver until Chauncey Billups go there. Barry said the Knicks don’t have that kind of character guy to help out.
Barry said that they need to bring in a free agent leader. He wouldn’t have Mike Woodson back unless they got that guy.
