Tom Thibodeau doesn’t regret playing Derrick Rose when he got hurt

Chicago Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau joined the show to talk about his season and help break down the playoffs. Here are some his takes:

— Thibodeau said the season was greatly affected by injuries. He said the bench did great, but there was only so much this team could do with so many players hurt.

— Thibodeau talked about why he didn’t pull Derrick Rose from the game he got injured in against the Sixers in the first round of the playoffs. Dan asked if he wished he had pulled him from the game, which seemed to be in hand.

“When I look back, I would not have done anything different,” Thibodeau said. “It’s unfortunate. It’s not a death sentence for Derrick. It’s not a death sentence for our team.”

Thibodeau said he talked to Rose yesterday and he’s in good spirits and has a great support network.

— Thibodeau talked about Boston Celtics guard Rajon Rondo. “There’s really no defense for him,” Thibodeau said. “He’s an offense unto himself. You can defend him perfectly and defend their team perfectly and he’ll still find a shot for somebody.”
