Andrea Kremer talks about chances Phil Jackson will return to NBA

HBO Real Sports’ Andrea Kremer joined the show to talk about her sit-down interview with Phil Jackson at his Montana home.

Dan asked if you walk in, would you be able to tell Jackson is the most decorated coach of all time. She said no, because he doesn’t have a trophy room. She also said all the “Big Chief Triangle” stereotypes are all sort of true when you look at his home.

Kremer said Jackson said he doesn’t want to coach again. But she didn’t seem 100 percent convinced. She said when you look at the body language on when he said the Knicks haven’t called, it seemed he might want them to call.

Kremer said Jackson talked to Scottie Pippen about a situation in Orlando, but he didn’t talk directly to anyone in the Magic.

Kremer said that Jackson may come back in a role as a coach of coaches with one of his guys as the head coach. She said Tex Winter did that with Jackson.

“He’s healthier than ever because he had knee replacement surgery,” Kremer said. “I just can’t rule out coaching again.”

Kremer said that Lakers ownership wanted a coach who would make Andrew Bynum a bigger part of the team. Jackson told her that killed the chemistry of the team and made Pau Gasol less impactful.
