Steve Kerr: Thunder need to get Durant better shots
TNT analyst Steve Kerr joined the show to help break down the NBA Finals.
Kerr talked about what’s wrong with the Thunder: “They have to figure out a way to get LeBron [James] off [Kevin] Durant.”
He said Durant isn’t getting the right shots because LeBron is crowding him. “They need to run some back door stuff,” Kerr said. “Some misdirection stuff. And figure out a way to get Durant some easy shots in the fourth quarter. You gotta have a counter. To this point, they haven’t figured it out.
Kerr also weighed in on his former coach Phil Jackson and the chances he’ll return to coaching. “I do think he misses it,” Kerr said. “Phil’s going through that process now with retirement. It’s not an easy thing to do.”
Dan asked Kerr if he would like to coach under Michael Jordan in Charlotte. “I would have no problem coaching under Michael,” Kerr said. “If you’re going to coach, you better have players. They don’t have players. It’s a lousy talent base.”
Kerr told a very funny story about his training camp fight with Jordan. He said he made a huge mistake and barked at Jordan.
