Bobby Valentine talks about Red Sox’ turnaround, Boston media

Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine joined the show to talk about his team’s turnaround.

Dan asked the last time he gave a speech to the team. He said a few weeks ago, they had a little meeting. But he said it wasn’t too intense … he just urged them to play better.

Dan asked Valentine whether he prefers Boston media or New York media.  “Neither,” Valentine said.

Valentine said that the Boston media has been “ever-present.” He said that it’s a tough world trying to have the story.

Dan asked Valentine if he ever missed television. He said yes, on Sunday nights when he’s watching the game.

Dan asked Valentine if he’s crossed path with Terry Francona. Valentine said a couple times, and it got a little easier. The first time was tough.
