Howard Beck says Nets catching up on Knicks
New York Times reporter Howard Beck joined the show to talk about NBA free agency and more.
Beck thinks the Nets are closing in on the Knicks. He said the Deron Williams-Joe Johnson backcourt is one of the better ones in the league. He said even if they don’t get Dwight Howard, the Nets could challenge for the No. 3 or 4 seed in the East.
Beck thinks that Jeremy Lin is still a big priority for the Knicks. He said that even if the Knicks had gotten Steve Nash, they’d still go after Lin. He thinks Nash would have mentored Lin and taken pressure off the young guard.
Beck also weighed in on Dwight Howard. He said the key right now is what can change the Orlando Magic’s minds. Beck said the Magic are being smart by being patient.
